The Commission appreciated the monograph for &#8220;impressively detailed investigation of the origin and dynamics of US involvement on behalf of refugees from Central and Eastern Europe in the early years of the Cold War.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Willi Paul Adams Award is awarded every two years to the author of the best book on American history published in a foreign language.
