At the same time, they are working on peat profiles with many intermediaries aiming at recreating past climatic conditions. Great emphasis of the research is placed on biodiversity and ecology of microorganisms.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers show the potential of bogs to accumulate carbon dioxide, and how these ecosystems help in combating global warming by absorbing CO2. Research shows that this state will not last forever. \u2013 The humanity is only 100 years from the catastrophic global warming.
