The PhD Students’ Scientific Group of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Silesia invites participants on 8 and 9 April to the conference “Evaluation of literature – criticism, theory, history”. The meeting will be devoted to changes in the valuation and evaluation of phenomena in the space of literature and literary studies – critical accounts, theoretical issues and interpretive exchanges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The reception of the literature is in permanent change. The texts are subject to a constant movement of reinterpretation and re-reading; searching in dusty archives and displaying the light of daylight or just the opposite – forgetting and skipping.<\/p>\n

The topics of the conference include literary evaluations, literature valuation, evaluation in literature; reception optics, criticism of old and new works; overestimated and underestimated literature and methods in the heat of criticism; canon and periphery about the (un) popularity of works, as well as new perspectives: the state of research and other research strategies.
