{"id":66302,"date":"2019-03-14T17:05:33","date_gmt":"2019-03-14T16:05:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=66302"},"modified":"2019-03-14T17:05:33","modified_gmt":"2019-03-14T16:05:33","slug":"researcher-at-the-university-of-gdansk-receives-fullbright-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/researcher-at-the-university-of-gdansk-receives-fullbright-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Researcher at the University of Gda\u0144sk receives Fullbright scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dr Agata Weydmann-Zwolicka from the Institute of Oceanography of the University of Gda\u0144sk has been awarded the prestigious scholarship of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission in the Senior Award category 2019\/20.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Gda\u0144sk researcher will carry out the project &#8220;The impact of atlantification on the Arctic zooplankton: application of modern genomics methods&#8221; in cooperation with scientists from the Department of Marine Sciences and the Institute for Systems Genomics at the University of Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>The main scientific goal of the project is to study the impact of climate change and the so-called Arctic atlantification on the biodiversity of zooplankton in the region of the West Spitsbergen Current, transporting into the Arctic the water of Atlantic origin and various planktonic organisms.
