{"id":64443,"date":"2019-03-04T17:55:55","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T16:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=64443"},"modified":"2019-03-04T17:55:55","modified_gmt":"2019-03-04T16:55:55","slug":"toruns-success-in-the-competition-innovation-is-a-woman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/toruns-success-in-the-competition-innovation-is-a-woman\/","title":{"rendered":"Torun&#8217;s success in the competition &#8220;Innovation is a woman&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dr Gra\u017cyna D\u0105browska from the Department of Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144 (UMK) won in the 10th &#8220;Innovation is a woman&#8221; competition organized by the Women Science Foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The winner was appreciated for the innovative solution &#8220;Method of obtaining a biological preparation of fungal origin accelerating the degradation of polymer materials and a biological preparation&#8221;, created jointly with Zuzanna Znajewska from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection and Dr Ewa Olewnik-Kruszkowska and Dr Gra\u017cyna Szczepa\u0144ska from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.<\/p>\n<p>The winning project is a preparation from fungi and other microorganisms occurring in Poland, which by about 20 percent accelerates the decomposition of plastics, even those biologically non-degradable.
