{"id":64434,"date":"2019-03-04T17:54:10","date_gmt":"2019-03-04T16:54:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=64434"},"modified":"2019-03-04T17:54:10","modified_gmt":"2019-03-04T16:54:10","slug":"iliad-days-in-poznan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/iliad-days-in-poznan\/","title":{"rendered":"Iliad days in Pozna\u0144"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Raczy\u0144ski Library, the Institute of Classical Philology of the Adam Mickiewicz University and the Pozna\u0144 branch of the Polish Philological Society invite participants to the Iliad Days on March 21 and 22, which will take place in Pozna\u0144 as part of the Iliad International Festival.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On March 21, a scientific session Around the Iliad: topics, characters, language is planned. The inaugural lecture &#8220;Theogonic Motifs in the Iliad&#8221; will be delivered by Dr Bruno Currie from the University of Oxford. In the evening, a concert will take place during which fragments of the operas: Deidamia Georg Friedrich H\u00e4ndel and Il ritorno d&#8217;Ulisse in Patri Claudio Monteverdi will be presented.<\/p>\n<p>On March 22 at 10 a.m, the Adam Mickiewicz University&#8217;s Collegium Maius will begin international reading of selected episodes of the Iliad, and from 17 in the Raczy\u0144ski Library and students of the Institute of Classical Philology will read lecturers and excerpts from book VI (Farewell to Hector and Andromache) and book XXII (Death of Hector).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Raczy\u0144ski Library, the Institute of Classical Philology of the Adam Mickiewicz University and the Pozna\u0144 branch of the Polish Philological Society invite participants to the Iliad Days on March 21 and 22, which will take place in Pozna\u0144 as part of the Iliad International Festival.
