Jerzy Lis, prorector for cooperation at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, was awarded the &#8220;The Bridge Building Award&#8221;. It is awarded annually by the American Ceramic Society to a non-US scientist, who made a unique contribution to the development of ceramic engineering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prize was awarded during the 43rd International ICACC Conference (International Conference &amp; Exposition on Advanced Ceramics and Composites), which took place on January 22-27, 2019 in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is one of the most important world meetings of scientists and representatives of the ceramic industry.
