Professor Chro\u015bcicki is one of the greatest Polish historians of modern art and a specialist in the field of iconography of power.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lecture will be devoted to a chosen motif in the work of one of the most famous painters in history: Jan Vermeer van Delft. This Dutch artist is considered to be the master of genre scenes, especially the pictures of women in residential interiors, occupied with everyday activities, such as reading.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Chro\u015bcicki has been associated with the University of Warsaw, where he has been the deputy dean and dean of the Historical Department. He was the director of the Polish center at the Sorbonne in Paris. He is a co-creator and editor-in-chief of the journal &#8220;Barocco.
