The ceremony will start at 11.00 in Hall A of the Education and Congress Center of the Silesian University of Technology at ul. Konarskiego 18B in Gliwice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr Piccard devoted his professional life to science. He is a doctor specializing in psychiatry, but he is best known for his achievements in the field of modern technologies. He travelled twice round the globe, firstly with a balloon and then with a plane of his own idea, powered exclusively by solar energy.
