{"id":48441,"date":"2018-11-22T17:44:13","date_gmt":"2018-11-22T16:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=48441"},"modified":"2018-11-22T17:44:13","modified_gmt":"2018-11-22T16:44:13","slug":"torun-coin-designs-winning-world-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/torun-coin-designs-winning-world-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Toru\u0144 coin designs winning world awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Two coins designed by Dr. Sebastian Miko\u0142ajczak from the Department of Sculpture of the Fine Arts Department of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144 hasve been awarded in international competitions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A silver coin with the image of Nicolaus Copernicus, which inaugurated the series of the National Bank of Poland, &#8220;Great Polish Economists,&#8221; won the main prize and the title &#8220;Coins of the Year 2018&#8221; in the international competition &#8220;Coin Constellation &#8211; 2018&#8221;. The coin depicts the image of Nicolaus Copernicus and a fragment of the original manuscript of the dissertation about the minting of a coin from the collection of the National Museum in Krakow.<\/p>\n<p>Another work of Dr. Miko\u0142ajczak &#8211; a project of a silver collector&#8217;s coin with a denomination of 15 euros, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Jaan T\u00f5nisson\u201d birth, won the competition of the Central Bank of Estonia.
