Five young scientists received scholarships of 15 thousand PLN.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The laureates of this year&#8217;s competition are: Dr. Jan Olaszek from the Institute of National Remembrance, who studies the Polish opposition until 1989 in the comparison to the dissident movements in other communist countries in the humanities category; Dr Mateusz Strzelecki from the University of Wroc\u0142aw, head of the polar station in Spitsbergen in the social sciences category; Dr. Szymon Drobniak from the Jagiellonian University, author of 36 publications in the field of evolutionary biology in the category of life sciences; Dr Eng Daniel Prochowicz from the Polish Academy of Sciences, who is scientifically involved in photovoltaics in the exact sciences category; Dr Eng Judyta Cichocka of the Wroc\u0142aw University of Technology, involved in parametric design and Optimization of Architectural Design techniques in the technical sciences category.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Polityka weekly journal for the 18th time selected the winners of the &#8220;Polityka&#8221; Science Awards.
