{"id":38799,"date":"2018-09-24T16:17:16","date_gmt":"2018-09-24T14:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=38799"},"modified":"2018-09-24T16:17:16","modified_gmt":"2018-09-24T14:17:16","slug":"documentary-film-of-a-student-from-the-agh-university-of-science-and-technology-about-polish-missing-locomotives-in-lebanon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/documentary-film-of-a-student-from-the-agh-university-of-science-and-technology-about-polish-missing-locomotives-in-lebanon\/","title":{"rendered":"Documentary film of a student from the AGH University of Science and Technology about Polish missing locomotives in Lebanon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Micha\u0142 Bis, a student at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, made a documentary entitled &#8220;Praise from Beirut.&#8221; It presents the history of Polish locomotives produced in the 1970s in Pozna\u0144 and purchased to the Lebanese Railways.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Micha\u0142 Bis started his film in 2012 and explored the history of three locomotives sold to the Lebanon Railways. Polish locomotives survived the civil war in Lebanon and remained in use until 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next 20 years, however, the machines were missing. Micha\u0142 Bis discovered them for the needs of his documentary. In 2015, the author flew to the capital of Lebanon, where he received permission to film the locomotives. Currently, the machines are located at the military base in Beirut. The film presents the history of machines from the moment of their transport to Lebanon, up to today.
