Tomasz Pora\u017cko &#8211; doctors of the University Clinical Center in Opole performed the procedure of removing the damaged dialysis catheter with the innovative method &#8211; informs Ma\u0142gorzata Lis-Skupi\u0144ska, Centrum&#8217;s spokesperson.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dialysis using vascular catheters causes complications that require replacement of the catheter, which is usually performed under local anesthesia, painlessly and comfortably for the patient. Sometimes, however, the venous vessel gets attached to the tissue, and the patient requires a major surgical procedure. It was avoided in Opole.<\/p>\n<p>Doctors first tried to remove the damaged catheter by inserting a special balloon into it, filling and emptying it. This method turned out to be ineffective.
