Laser spectroscopy allows us to study phenomena occurring at the level of atoms and molecules and their interaction with matter. It is currently one of the fastest growing fields of science.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laser spectroscopy is used to detect different types of molecules in air, for example. These can be, for example, toxic, explosive or other pollutants. Sensors built with this technology can be used, for example, at petrol stations, where they detect gas leaks, or on cattle farms, where they monitor methane levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In her dissertation, the doctoral student deals with methods for generating optical frequency combs in the mid-infrared for laser spectroscopy.
