{"id":336263,"date":"2024-03-06T09:07:43","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T08:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=336263"},"modified":"2024-03-06T09:07:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T08:07:43","slug":"warsaw-university-of-technology-student-develops-telescope-as-part-of-engineering-thesis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/warsaw-university-of-technology-student-develops-telescope-as-part-of-engineering-thesis\/","title":{"rendered":"Warsaw University of Technology student develops telescope as part of engineering thesis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kacper \u0141obodecki, a student at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography at Warsaw University of Technology, developed a telescope as part of his engineering thesis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The thesis &#8220;Construction of a Newtonian telescope with a geoinformatic system supporting astronomical observations&#8221; was supervised by Dr Robert Olszewski, Prof. of the Warsaw University of Technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kacper \u0141obodecki received his engineering degree at the beginning of February and is currently a student of computer science at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Sensors, a GPS receiver and special motors have been built into the telescope to support the calibration and observation process. All communication is done via WiFi, and the instrument is battery-powered, so you can confidently &#8216;go with it into the field'&#8221;, points out\u00a0 Kacper \u0141obodecki.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The result of the work is a fully functional astronomical instrument, which, combined with the developed geoinformatics software to support observation, provides a ready platform for both hobbyist and scientific research.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kacper \u0141obodecki, a student at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography at Warsaw University of Technology, developed a telescope as part of his engineering thesis.
