{"id":333416,"date":"2024-02-19T21:16:21","date_gmt":"2024-02-19T20:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=333416"},"modified":"2024-02-19T21:16:21","modified_gmt":"2024-02-19T20:16:21","slug":"how-to-improve-the-energy-efficiency-of-historic-districts-in-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/how-to-improve-the-energy-efficiency-of-historic-districts-in-cities\/","title":{"rendered":"How to improve the energy efficiency of historic districts in cities?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers from the Lublin University of Technology (PL), the Energy Institute Hrvoje Po\u017ear in Croatia (project leader), Stendal University of Applied Sciences in Germany and the Energy Management Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia in Italy are working on modern methods to improve the energy efficiency of historic districts in Zamo\u015b\u0107, Karlovac and Palmanovo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Zero energy buildings for zero energy neighbourhoods&#8221; is an international project under the Interreg Central Europe programme. It will run until June 2026 and has a budget of more than \u20ac2 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The historic centres of historic towns present a particular challenge. Historic buildings have incompatible parameters and, as a consequence, thermal comfort at an appropriate level is often not achievable indoors. Therefore, in order to protect the environment and ensure an appropriate standard of use, it is necessary to thermo-modernise historic buildings&#8221;, said Professor Bogus\u0142aw Szmygin from the PL&#8217;s Department of Historic Preservation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers are currently working on creating digital maps of historic centres. Such a map has already been created for Zamo\u015b\u0107.
