{"id":331894,"date":"2024-02-12T09:10:51","date_gmt":"2024-02-12T08:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=331894"},"modified":"2024-02-12T09:10:51","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T08:10:51","slug":"agh-university-of-science-and-technology-in-krakow-operating-its-own-5g-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/agh-university-of-science-and-technology-in-krakow-operating-its-own-5g-network\/","title":{"rendered":"AGH University of Science and Technology in Krak\u00f3w operating its own 5G network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow is one of the few in Poland to have obtained a radio permit from the Office of Electronic Communications for the use of a private 5G network.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the Krak\u00f3w-based university, the launch of the 5G network at AGH is the result of the completed project &#8220;National laboratory of 5G networks and services with environment: PL-5G&#8217;, which was carried out in a consortium of the Academy with the Warsaw University of Technology (project leader), the Institute of Communications &#8211; National Research Institute, the Wroc\u0142aw University of Technology, the Gda\u0144sk University of Technology and the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences &#8211; Pozna\u0144 Supercomputing and Networking Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the project, with a total budget of nearly PLN 225 million (AGH had a budget of about PLN 25 million), the university created four laboratories located at the Institute of Telecommunications (Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications): 5G network laboratory, simulator and measurement apparatus laboratory, 5G network environment laboratory for IoT research, 5G network environment laboratory for multimedia research.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow is one of the few in Poland to have obtained a radio permit from the Office of Electronic Communications for the use of a private 5G network.
