Work on the prototype vessel took more than two years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The hull was created in a catamaran configuration, i.e. a pair of pontoons connected by a platform, The hull and superstructure are made of aluminium. The resulting prototype is designed for the collection and disposal of floating waste in ports, marinas, waterways and other confined waters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The unit can collect 2 tonnes of liquid debris or 800 kg of solids at a time. It is electrically powered and reaches a speed of several knots.
