A licence agreement for the use of the technology has already been signed by MPWiK from \u017bywiec.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers from the Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with specialists from the Wroc\u0142aw MPWiK, have developed an innovative method for removing nitrogen from digestion leachate at the Wroc\u0142aw &#8220;Jan\u00f3wek&#8221; Wastewater Treatment Plant. Until now, these leachates were sent to the sewage line, where they were removed through a process of nitrification and denitrification.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Thanks to the implementation of the new technology in Wroc\u0142aw, MPWiK will reduce the energy demand for aerating the wastewater in the biological blocks by approximately 7-9 per cent. Until now, the annual cost of this process has amounted to as much as half a million zlotys.
