The project, which aims to help diagnose and treat lymphoedema in children, is funded by the Erasmus + programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lymphoedema is a so-called rare disease that affects no more than five in ten thousand people. It leads to lymphatic stasis, which results in chronic swelling and deformity of the limbs, recurrent infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue and, in some cases, secondary tumours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Wroc\u0142aw centre receives several, sometimes more than a dozen paediatric patients with this condition every year. Contrary to the name, the problem is therefore not marginal, but many doctors around the world still do not know how to proceed.
