The results of their work have been published in The Anthropocene Review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research shows that the inhabitants of small towns and villages can play a key role in the energy transition in Poland. It is these communities that have the potential to create local and independent systems that guarantee energy security throughout the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;It is distributed generation that strengthens energy security and shortens the production chain. We decided to see to what extent the actors located in the different counties are involved in the creation of sustainable energy systems.
