{"id":326222,"date":"2024-01-10T09:14:20","date_gmt":"2024-01-10T08:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=326222"},"modified":"2024-01-10T09:14:20","modified_gmt":"2024-01-10T08:14:20","slug":"researchers-from-nicolaus-copernicus-university-in-torun-receive-a-grant-from-the-polish-metrology-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/researchers-from-nicolaus-copernicus-university-in-torun-receive-a-grant-from-the-polish-metrology-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Researchers from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144 receive a grant from the Polish Metrology Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A team of researchers from the Institute of Physics at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144 has won a competition for a research grant in the ministerial programme Polska Metrologia II and will carry out a project &#8216;New quantum technologies for optical patterns of particle concentration, pressure and gas temperature&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim of the two-year project is to eliminate systematic errors in the measurement of the intensity of molecular spectral lines by cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS) related to the non-linearity of the light detection system, and to demonstrate the measurement of gas concentration based solely on a comparison of the measured and ab intio calculated line intensity and known gas temperature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Such a measurement will demonstrate a new optical standard for gas concentration and pressure and, in the future, allow the development of non-contact measurement systems based on accurate, high-resolution spectroscopy.
