{"id":32383,"date":"2018-08-14T17:36:37","date_gmt":"2018-08-14T15:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=32383"},"modified":"2018-08-14T17:36:37","modified_gmt":"2018-08-14T15:36:37","slug":"discovery-of-archaeologists-from-the-university-of-gdansk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/discovery-of-archaeologists-from-the-university-of-gdansk\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovery of archaeologists from the University of Gdansk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Archaeologists from the University of Gda\u0144sk during the excavations in the East Ramparts of the Wis\u0142ouj\u015bcie Fortress discovered the remains of the barracks, foundations of the church of St. Olaf and about 2 thousand exhibits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Researchers during the two-week archaeological excavations found fragments of ceramics with the Gda\u0144sk coat of arms and numerous objects made of metal &#8211; bullets, metal ornaments, knives, cleaver, coins and a luncheon.<\/p>\n<p>The archaeological works will last the next three years. They are implemented as part of the Archaeobalt project, co-financed from the European Union under the South Baltic Program 2014-2020. The project leader is the University of Gda\u0144sk and the partners are the Gda\u0144sk Museum, the Bornholm Museum, the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and the University of Lund (Sweden).<\/p>\n<p>The Wis\u0142ouj\u015bcie fortress is a complex of defensive buildings on the right bank of the Martwa Wis\u0142a.
