Sixth-year medical students at the University of Zielona G\u00f3ra’s Medical College have already had their first clinical classes in neurosurgery in Poland’s only ultramodern seminar room.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was equipped with unique equipment that allowed students to observe “live” the work of neurosurgeons during a very complicated operation to remove a tumour from the spine. During the operation, thanks to 3D glasses, the students are able to view the neurosurgeon’s operating microscope at all times, and – using an audio system – can immediately ask questions of the operating doctor, who explains the course of the operation in real time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The creation and equipment of this room was made possible thanks to financial support from the University of Zielona G\u00f3ra, while the purchase of a super-modern operating microscope enabling such complex neurosurgical operations was financed by the local government of the Lubuskie Voivodeship.<\/span><\/p>\n
