In establishing this award, the Senate of the University of Public Service emphasised that it would be awarded to highly respected and internationally recognised individuals whose activities serve the cause of &#8216;Central European thought&#8217; and the interests of Hungary and the Central European region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first recipient of the Ludoviki Prize was Professor Stanislaw Sroka, dean of the Faculty of History at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He studied history at the Jagiellonian University and at the E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Koll\u00e9gium of the University of Budapest.
