Their winning project called &#8216;Small molecules in a big battle &#8211; developing compounds with anti-cancer effects&#8217; also received the highest number of votes among Internet users and won in the FUT Favourite category.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim of the project &#8216;Small molecules in a big battle &#8211; developing compounds with anticancer activity&#8217; is to develop small-molecule inhibitors that show anticancer activity on breast cancer and colorectal cancer cell lines, and thus substances that could become effective drugs for the previously indicated cancers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research group has also focused on obtaining compounds through more environmentally friendly reactions, including reactions supported by microwave radiation and ultrasound.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the Krak\u00f3w University of Technology (PK) have won the main prize in the scientific research category in the nationwide &#8220;KoKoN&#8221; Competition of Scientific Clubs.
