The results of their research have been published in the journal &#8216;Nature Photonics&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A team of researchers from the Quantum Optical Devices Laboratory at the QOT Centre for Quantum Optical Technologies &#8211; Dr Micha\u0142 Parniak and Dr Mateusz Mazelanik, as well as PhD student Sebastian Bor\u00f3wka and MA student Uliana Pylypenko from the UW&#8217;s Department of Physics &#8211; constructed a device that converts quantum information between single microwave and optical photons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The results of the research on the new microwave detection technique, which could find applications in quantum technologies as part of the infrastructure of the quantum internet and in microwave radio astronomy, were published in the journal Nature Photonics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Read more:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41566-023-01295-w#citeas\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41566-023-01295-w#citeas<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers from the University of Warsaw (UW) have built a device that could prove helpful in constructing a network card for a quantum computer.
