{"id":305730,"date":"2023-09-18T14:11:10","date_gmt":"2023-09-18T12:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=305730"},"modified":"2023-09-18T14:11:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T12:11:10","slug":"university-of-wroclaw-researcher-becomes-a-member-of-an-expedition-to-svalbard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/university-of-wroclaw-researcher-becomes-a-member-of-an-expedition-to-svalbard\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Wroc\u0142aw researcher becomes a member of an expedition to Svalbard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An expedition to Svalbard (Norway) has come to an end, taking place as part of an international expedition funded by the Svalbard Strategic Grant &#8211; TONES of the Norwegian Research Council and supported by the National Science Centre &#8220;Opus&#8221; grant &#8211; NEOMAGRATE (IGF-PAN).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the participants of the expedition was Dr Grzegorz Ziemniak from the University of Wroc\u0142aw, who together with eight scientists from centres in Poland, Norway, Sweden, Canada and Great Britain took part in collecting samples for geochronological, petrological and palaeomagnetic purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The participants of the expedition, which lasted more than three weeks, visited a total of several dozen locations in western and northern Svalbard, crossing the 80\u00b0N parallel several times.
