{"id":304508,"date":"2023-09-12T09:44:55","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T07:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=304508"},"modified":"2023-09-12T09:44:55","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T07:44:55","slug":"report-science-and-higher-education-and-economic-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/report-science-and-higher-education-and-economic-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Report &#8220;Science and higher education and economic development&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the XXXII Economic Forum in Karpacz, a report was presented, commissioned by the Conference of Rectors of Economic Universities (CRUE) &#8220;Science and Higher Education and Economic Development&#8221;, which proves that investment in science and research is extremely effective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its results were discussed during the Forum by the rectors of the Warsaw School of Economics and the Universities of Economics in Krak\u00f3w, Katowice, Pozna\u0144 and Wroc\u0142aw.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the report, in Poland the level of funding for research and science should increase to around 3% of GDP; currently it is at a level of 1.39% of GDP; while the average in OECD countries is around 2.5%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland, economic growth to date has not been based on technological progress or the effects of scientific activity, the publication noted.
