{"id":301609,"date":"2023-08-28T09:38:37","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T07:38:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=301609"},"modified":"2023-08-28T09:38:37","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T07:38:37","slug":"archaeologists-from-the-university-of-lodz-discovered-ancient-burials-near-wielun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/archaeologists-from-the-university-of-lodz-discovered-ancient-burials-near-wielun\/","title":{"rendered":"Archaeologists from the University of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a discovered ancient burials near Wielu\u0144"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Near Wielu\u0144 in the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a province, a team of researchers affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a (U\u0141) has discovered ancient burials that can be dated to the Early Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discovery is the result of research by a team comprising archaeology students of the Institute of Archaeology at the University of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a and volunteers &#8211; graduates of the faculty, working under the direction of Professor Rados\u0142aw Janiak.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the research seven corpse burials and one deposit of vessels were discovered. The preliminary results of the research make it possible to confirm several stages of use of this necropolis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The oldest phase is represented by four burials, ashlar and pit, which can be dated to the Early Bronze Age (approx. 1100-900 BC). The aforementioned non-grave vessel deposit should be linked to this phase.
