The aim of the award is to recognise and appreciate the outstanding contribution of early career researchers whose research concerns virtual rehabilitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A researcher from the OP&#8217;s Department of Physiotherapy has been working extensively on the use of virtual reality in rehabilitation for seven years, particularly for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and post-COVID-19 patients, and has authored more than 50 publications, including systematic reviews, meta-analyses and original research articles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8216;When I started my work on the use of virtual reality, my idea was taken with a pinch of salt in the scientific world. In fact, there was a widespread belief that virtual reality was about games, not science.
