The School took place near central Spitsbergen and included fieldwork, laboratory work and lectures, reports the university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the School, participants collected hundreds of soil and freshwater sediment samples, dozens of vascular plant specimens, collected ice cores, and made some measurements related to the Arctic environmental monitoring planned at the university.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students attended lectures by specialists working at the University Centre in Svalbard and vascular plant identification classes.
