{"id":295922,"date":"2023-07-25T13:28:46","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T11:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=295922"},"modified":"2023-07-25T13:28:46","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T11:28:46","slug":"polish-austrian-project-awarded-in-opus-24-lap-weave-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/polish-austrian-project-awarded-in-opus-24-lap-weave-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish-Austrian project awarded in OPUS 24+ LAP\/WEAVE competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Centre for Science (NCN) has published the results of the OPUS 24+ LAP competition, in which researchers at all stages of their careers could apply for funding for projects carried out in international cooperation under the WEAVE programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research projects involving Polish-Austrian cooperation were evaluated based on the Lead Agency Procedure (LAP), in which NCN acted as the lead agency and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) accepted the results of NCN&#8217;s evaluation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winner of the competition was Dr Agnieszka Tomala from the Krak\u00f3w University of Technology, who, together with Prof. Carsten Gachot from the Vienna University of Technology, will carry out a project entitled Future generation of bioactive laser-structured biomaterials based on Ti\/HAp\/MXene.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their research responds to the challenges of an increasingly ageing population and the observed increase in the frequency of orthopaedic implants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research aims to develop a novel composite biomaterial that will significantly improve the biocompatibility and durability of surgical implants.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCN will allocate more than PLN 1.7 million to fund the Polish part of the project.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Centre for Science (NCN) has published the results of the OPUS 24+ LAP competition, in which researchers at all stages of their careers could apply for funding for projects carried out in international cooperation under the WEAVE programme.
