{"id":295265,"date":"2023-07-20T11:22:32","date_gmt":"2023-07-20T09:22:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=295265"},"modified":"2023-07-20T11:22:32","modified_gmt":"2023-07-20T09:22:32","slug":"first-year-of-the-interdisciplinary-centre-for-polish-studies-at-the-university-of-haifa-reviewed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/first-year-of-the-interdisciplinary-centre-for-polish-studies-at-the-university-of-haifa-reviewed\/","title":{"rendered":"First year of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Polish Studies at the University of Haifa reviewed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has reviewed the first year of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Polish Studies at Haifa University in Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HIUPS (Interdisciplinary Unit for Polish Studies at University of Haifa) is the first such large-scale Polish studies initiative co-financed by NAWA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The centre was created thanks to an agreement signed by Haifa University and NAWA on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science with the support of the Polish Institute in Tel Aviv.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the funding received, HIUPS organises, among other things, conferences, workshops and seminars. The 2022 conference &#8216;Lost or Found? Polish-Jewish Culture in Translation&#8217; and an international online conference on new directions in researching the life of Stanis\u0142aw Vincenz.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the research project &#8216;Dybuk&#8217;, the Centre co-organised the intercultural workshop &#8216;Yiddish, Jewish-Polish, and Polish Theatre: Transnational Perspectives&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Centre is a vibrant teaching centre, promoting knowledge of Poland, its history, culture, economy, politics and society, both historically and contemporarily in the context of links with Jewish history and culture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Read more:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hiups.org\/annual-reports\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/hiups.org\/annual-reports<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has reviewed the first year of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Polish Studies at Haifa University in Israel.
