{"id":291023,"date":"2023-06-28T09:18:49","date_gmt":"2023-06-28T07:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=291023"},"modified":"2023-06-28T09:18:49","modified_gmt":"2023-06-28T07:18:49","slug":"warsaw-university-students-win-ecmi-student-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/warsaw-university-students-win-ecmi-student-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Warsaw University students win ECMI Student Competition\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A team of students from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw (UW) has won a competition on applications of mathematics, organised by the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winners of this year&#8217;s ECMI Student Competition were a team of students from the UW Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, consisting of: Jacek Zgud, Kajetan Fornalik, Pawe\u0142 Ros\u0142oniec and Tomasz Sibicki.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The competition task was created by the Girteka Logistics shipping company. Over the course of two months, the students were tasked with developing decision-making models based on data on the company&#8217;s realised transports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The competition is organised by the ECMI consortium (European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry), which brings together European universities and companies.
