Thanks to funding of over PLN 1.2 million, he will start his research at the Faculty of Chemistry of Wroc\u0142aw University of Technology (&#8216;PWr&#8217;) in October. He will deal with the &#8216;Molecular characterisation of hypoxic tumours in the development of anticancer therapies&#8217;. &#8211; reports the university.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr Deiana graduated from the University of Cagliari, Italy, and obtained his PhD from the Faculty of Chemistry at PWr. His doctoral thesis focused on the study of canonical and non-canonical DNA structures, such as G-quadruplexes (G4s), using functional photonic materials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">G-quadruplexes are biologically active structures found in the genomic DNA of metabolising cells.
