The Vice-Chancellor for Science and Development of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawe\u0142czyk, has become the winner of the competition “European Universities – Alliances of the Future” in the Personality category. The competition was adjudicated during the 1st Conference of European Universities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event aimed at selecting the most inspiring and active Polish universities operating within university alliances and promoting the initiative and the significance of European Universities for the Polish and European economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

“European Universities are a new quality. Thanks to them we can accumulate potential and use the already well-known synergy effect. It should be emphasised that Poland still has a lot of work to do to make our universities more recognisable. Europe must also catch up with the world. American or Asian universities are often more highly regarded. That is why the European Universities initiative was born and it seems that it will bear fruit in the next few years”, said the laureate.<\/span><\/p>\n
