The University of Gdansk has won the competition “European Universities – alliances of the future” in the category “Support for Ukraine”. At the Conference of European Universities in Warsaw, the award was received by Rector Prof. Piotr Stepnowski.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During his speech, Prof. Stepnowski spoke about the university’s commitment to interdisciplinarity, inter-sectorality and equal opportunities in access to education. The Gdansk university has conducted and is conducting many aid activities – including a campaign to collect and reload donations for refugees and struggling Ukraine and has also hosted children of soldiers fighting in the war.<\/span><\/p>\n

The European Universities Conference is a new initiative dedicated to alliances of higher education institutions from across the European Union. Its main objectives are to share experiences, launch joint initiatives leading to the development of long-term, structural, sustainable and systemic cooperation in education, research and innovation across Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n
