The winners will serve one-year research internships at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the USA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aleksandra Sokolowska is interested in biochemistry and crystallography. She is interested in structural studies using X-ray diffraction, of biologically important molecules &#8211; both macromolecules and smaller, &#8216;organic&#8217; ones. Her internship will explore the biochemical and structural mechanisms of gene regulation involving RNA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paulina Macierzynska&#8217;s interests include modern methods of examining biological samples for forensic purposes, including mass spectrometry, chromatographic techniques and coupled methods.
