This is a symbolic gesture of gratitude for the commitment of the University of Wroc\u0142aw community to helping war refugees from Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 16th-century manuscript is considered a national treasure of Ukraine. The 482 pages record the oldest surviving translation of the four Gospels from Old Church Slavonic into Old Russian.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The manuscript was written in 1556-1561 from the foundation of the Volyn princess Anastasia Zaslavskaya. Until 1701, it was kept in the Orthodox monastery in Peresopnica, then given by Hetman Ivan Mazepa to the Cathedral Sobor in Pereyaslav.
