Barbara Nasi\u0142owska from the Military University of Technology (WAT) in Warsaw has discovered a new application of flake graphene, which has enabled the development of a new type of anticorrosive water-based varnish and significantly improved the protection of the materials studied. The developed technology has been patented and may soon be implemented in commercial applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Developing the invention and conducting tests on its effectiveness in use required the involvement of a team of specialists. &#8220;That is why we decided to cooperate with two other research centres&#8221;, said Dr Barbara Nasi\u0142owska.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation with the Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics and the Institute of Precision Mechanics currently in the \u0141ukasiewicz network accelerated the research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim of the project was to produce graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide and combine them with a carrier, a water-based varnish. The key was to develop such proportions that would enable a product with very good anti-corrosion properties to be obtained.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Eng.
