Worth over PLN 26 million, the new research centre of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is being built on the PK campus in Czy\u017cyny.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The world-class scientific network and research centre within the National Coordinate Metrology Network (NSMET) project consists of four leading technical universities: the Krakow University of Technology (consortium leader) and the Universities of Technology in Poznan, Warsaw and Kielce.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aim of the network collaboration is to create a specialised research infrastructure in Poland for the development of coordinate metrology &#8211; an area of science that deals with the measurement and 3D imaging of all geometric objects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The laboratory will be equipped with internationally unique apparatus for measuring the geometry of the internal and external structures of measured objects, at scales from nano to large.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Objects subjected to measurements are mainly parts of machines and systems from various industries, including: automotive, aerospace, energy, machinery, household appliances, as well as medicine, photovoltaics, fibre optic technology, optoelectronics, bioengineering, composite materials production and nanomaterials.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The construction of the Laboratory of Ultraprecision Coordinate Measurements at the Krak\u00f3w University of Technology (PK) has begun.
