She has won a grant for her research in the Miniatura competition organised by the National Science Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Bacteriophages, i.e. viruses that attack and destroy bacteria, are becoming increasingly popular. Numerous studies are evaluating their potential in the treatment of humans or in animal husbandry, but in veterinary practice involving companion animals, i.e. dogs and cats, they are rare&#8221;, says Dr \u015aliwka.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The anaerobic bacteria Clostridioides difficile and Clostridium perfringens can cause severe diarrhoea in cats and dogs.
