Between 1999 and 2005, she coordinated the NATO Science for Peace research programme in the field of carbon-based materials used for electrochemical energy storage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Academia Europaea was founded in 1988 on the initiative of the British Royal Society, the world&#8217;s oldest scientific society, and the Swedish Academy of Sciences.
