{"id":254527,"date":"2022-12-12T09:37:13","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T08:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=254527"},"modified":"2022-12-12T09:37:13","modified_gmt":"2022-12-12T08:37:13","slug":"university-of-silesia-implements-cryosphere-integrated-observatory-network-on-svalbard-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/university-of-silesia-implements-cryosphere-integrated-observatory-network-on-svalbard-project\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Silesia implements Cryosphere Integrated Observatory Network on Svalbard project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The University of Silesia, together with the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the University of Wroc\u0142aw, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144, the Maria Curie-Sk\u0142odowska University in Lublin, the Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna\u0144, the Warsaw University of Technology, the Norwegian Polar Institute, the University Centre in Svalbard, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and SIOS &#8211; Knowledge Centre, has undertaken the expansion and harmonisation of the observatory network on Svalbard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main objective of the Cryosphere Integrated Observatory Network on Svalbard is to create a measurement and instrumentation network, necessary for the calibration and validation process of remote sensing data, models or other indirect research methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A strong emphasis will be placed on harmonisation of measurements and standardisation of apparatus, taking into account retrofitting to current standards.
