{"id":250280,"date":"2022-11-17T11:01:23","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T10:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=250280"},"modified":"2022-11-17T11:01:23","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T10:01:23","slug":"warsaw-scientists-developing-innovative-method-to-protect-plants-against-nematodes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/warsaw-scientists-developing-innovative-method-to-protect-plants-against-nematodes\/","title":{"rendered":"Warsaw scientists developing innovative method to protect plants against nematodes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research of Dr S\u0142awomir Janakowski and Dr Miros\u0142aw Sobczak from the Department of Botany of the Institute of Biology at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Warsaw will ease to breed crop varieties that are resistant or tolerant to infestation by parasitic nematodes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is estimated that, worldwide, annual crop production losses caused by parasitic nematodes amount to up to 25% of crop yield and are valued at more than 80 billion US dollars.
