{"id":240181,"date":"2022-09-20T12:38:05","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T10:38:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=240181"},"modified":"2022-09-20T12:38:05","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T10:38:05","slug":"winners-of-the-polish-falling-walls-lab-known","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/winners-of-the-polish-falling-walls-lab-known\/","title":{"rendered":"Winners of the Polish Falling Walls Lab known"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr Agnieszka \u017buchowskafrom the Faculty of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) and Kiranmai Uppuluri from the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network &#8211; Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics took first place ex aequo in the Warsaw Falling Walls Lab competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The contestants had to present in three minutes in English their proposal for &#8221; breaking down a wall&#8221; in science, education, society. The speeches were judged by an international jury and the audience gathered at the final.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The finalists proposed solutions to problems concerning the treatment of diseases, management of natural resources, data management, modern materials, food, energy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The judges awarded two first prizes. They were received by Kiranmai Uppuluri from the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network &#8211; Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics, who spoke about &#8216;breaking down walls&#8217; in water data analysis, and Dr Agnieszka \u017buchowska from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology, who addressed pre-clinical research in her presentation. The winners will compete in the international final of the Falling Walls Lab, which will take place in early November in Berlin.
