{"id":233797,"date":"2022-08-12T10:40:56","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T08:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/polishscience.pl\/?p=233797"},"modified":"2022-08-12T10:42:07","modified_gmt":"2022-08-12T08:42:07","slug":"can-cytisine-treat-e-cigarette-addiction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.polishscience.pl\/en\/can-cytisine-treat-e-cigarette-addiction\/","title":{"rendered":"Can Cytisine Treat E-cigarette Addiction?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The Research Team from the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology of the Institute of Medical Sciences of the University of Rzesz\u00f3w is implementing the project &#8220;Cytisine in the treatment of electronic cigarette addiction: a randomized placebo-controlled study&#8221;.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of last year, the university received a grant for its implementation in the competition of the Medical Research Agency in the amount of 9 million 860 thousand PLN. Now it has announced two tenders. The first tender will select a commercial company to carry out the research, and the second tender is for providing with drug and placebo used in the study.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The research project will last several years and will be carried out in several dozen centers across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The result of the research will develop pharmacological treatment of addiction to electronic cigarettes and the so-called double addiction, i.e. addiction to electronic and traditional cigarettes.
