Karolina Matej-\u0141ukowicz from the Department of Sanitary Engineering at the Gda\u0144sk University of Technology and student Joanna Stycharz are conducting research on the hydroponic method of growing plants.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hydroponics is a soilless method of growing plants that allows them to be planted in a nutrient solution containing a mineral salt solution. Such crops can be carried out not only on an industrial scale, but also in home gardens. The research carried out at the University of Gda\u0144sk is aimed at closing the water cycle in hydroponic lettuce cultivation by purifying the effluent in the green wall system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe want to investigate whether the water used to water our crops, which further forms the nutrient solution, can be reused, or even several times.
