Together with other universities from all over the continent, it will carry out activities in the field of advanced technologies in higher education.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Consortium of European Universities operates on the basis of partnerships of higher education institutions of the regions of the European Union, which cooperate with each other, carrying out tasks for the benefit of students, scientists and the society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within the ATHENA network, apart from UMCS, there are currently seven universities: Polit\u00e9cnico do Porto, Portugal; Hellenic Mediterranean University, Greece; Universit\u00e4t Siegen, Germany; Univerza v Mariboru, Slovenia; Universita Degli Studi Niccolo Cusano Telematica Roma, Italy; Universit\u00e9 d&#8217;Orleans, France and Vilniaus Gedimino Technikos Universitetas, Lithuania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The activities carried out by the ATHENA consortium aim to shape the digital transformation of societies as well as to support the development of a sustainable and secure digital economy.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maria Curie-Sk\u0142odowska University (UMCS) in Lublin joined the consortium of European Universities &#8211; ATHENA (Advanced Technology Higher Education Network Alliance).
